Private Academic Tutoring

Elite universities expect students to enroll in the most rigorous courses offered at their high school. While a student may be capable of taking several AP or IB classes, when they add in clubs, sports, music lessons, and volunteering to the mix, their grades often begin to suffer. ACT versus SAT

The ACT and the SAT are quite different, but serve the same purpose of putting academic skills in context with those of applicants across the US and abroad. Although both tests are seen equally in the eyes of admissions officers, most students will find one test more challenging than the other. It’s important to pick the test the student is most suited to.

The importance of choosing the correct standardized test

Picking the correct test will allow the student to achieve their desired test scores with the most efficiency. Most schools require SAT or ACT, and recommend AP and/or IB exams. Our tutors will help determine which test is more suitable to each student, and devise a study plan to earn the scores they are aiming for.

Should I take the SAT or the ACT?

Multiple factors can be used in determining whether a student should take the ACT or the SAT. Knowing where a student’s strengths lie is the most important factor to take into account when making this decision.

The ACT includes a science analysis section, while the SAT does not. If a student has strengths in data analysis, then the ACT may be the correct choice for them.

The ACT has a more challenging Math section than the SAT does.

The SAT tends to have a more challenging English section than the ACT.
