Former Admissions Officer at Boston College & Holy Cross
Zach has spent over 15 years guiding students through every stage of the college admissions process. He began his career inside admissions offices, learning the selection process at Holy Cross through its all-staff voting committee before moving to his alma mater, Boston College, where he personally reviewed more than 1,500 applications per year.
After six years in selective higher education admissions, Zach transitioned into independent educational consulting, advising students and families on everything from 9th-grade course planning through final application strategy.
He brings particular expertise in Ivy League and Ivy+ admissions, with a deep understanding of how the most selective institutions evaluate candidates and what distinguishes successful applicants within extraordinarily competitive pools.
He sees the essay as the piece of the application that best conveys a student’s distinctive characteristics and achievements, and has a particular talent for finding the hook that makes a student memorable on the page.
Having evaluated applications from both sides of the desk, he brings the perspective of a former admissions officer alongside the strategic judgment of a seasoned consultant.
