Shiv earned a B.A. in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania before receiving his M.D. from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Throughout his academic and professional career, he has advised students through the college and medical school admissions process, supported international students with college counseling and ACT/SAT preparation, and mentored students as they pursued highly selective academic opportunities. During medical school, he developed innovative mental health curricula in partnership with UCLA’s Department of Psychiatry and UCLA’s Center for East-West Medicine. As a Fulbright Scholar, Shiv also earned an M.A. in Dance Anthropology from the University of Roehampton, where his research explored storytelling, identity, and culture, earning the department’s Best Dissertation Award. His interdisciplinary background enables him to help students combine rigorous analytical thinking with creativity, communication, and leadership as they pursue ambitious academic and personal goals.
