Senior Tutors begin working with students as early as 7th grade to build the skills necessary for success on preliminary standardized tests, with the end goal of taking the PSAT in 10th and 11th grade, and qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship with the 11th grade sitting.

Do standardized tests still matter in the admissions process?

Yes! Standardized test scores are a critical component of a strong application, even at “test-optional” schools. Our expert tutoring team equips students to achieve their goal scores and articulate their academic preparedness to top schools.

When do students take the PSAT, ACT or SAT?

Students typically sit for the PSAT during 10th and 11th grades, with their junior year PSAT allowing them to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. Students take SAT and ACT diagnostic tests during the spring of their sophomore years, with the goal of earning their goal scores before the fall of senior year.
