“The most consistent feedback we receive is that our mentors ignite studentsā passions; the joy students find in discovering what they love is palpable to those around them. Beyond helping students fill out activities lists and edit college essays, Commandās mentors help students set a course for their future and find their purpose.”

How involved are parents in the mentorship process?
Parents are invited to periodic calls to discuss studentsā progress and future goals and receive follow-up emails with key updates following each mentoring session. At the same time, Command Education emphasizes a student-led approach to the process, meaning that parents are empowered to be a supportive figure while encouraging studentsā independence and autonomy.
My student is overcommitted. How can they make time to meet with their mentors if they are already overwhelmed?
Though Senior Mentors meet with students on a regular basis, they are very flexible when scheduling and meet with students at their convenience. They also work with students to develop the scheduling and organizational skills needed to manage their various commitments both in and beyond the classroom.
How do mentors know what colleges are looking for?
There is more publicly available information about the college admissions process than ever beforeāit doesnāt take a former admissions officer to know that Harvard rates students in core areas on a scale from 1ā6 or that students who submit test scores fare better at even test-optional schools. While former admissions officers know how to read stellar applications, our Senior Mentors know how to craft them. As recent graduates of Ivy League and other top institutions, our Senior Mentors are uniquely equipped to help students build applications that will stop admissions officers in their tracks. Additionally, our team brings a decade of results-proven insights into the admissions process from students who have earned admission to their dream schools. Students who work with Command benefit from the 1:1 attention of a dedicated Senior Mentor and the insights of a team of admissions experts. For more, check out our Q&A with Senior Mentor Erin.
